Basement Dweller Confused by Batman Announcement

In addition to the release of the Batman-Superman feature (due to hit theaters July 17, 2015), Warner Bros. have also announced a plan to write Ben Affleck into a new 3-part comic book series called ‘Batman: Affleckted.’

An announcement made by Greg Silverman, Warner Bros’ President of Creative Development and Worldwide Production regarding Ben Affleck’s role as Batman in the untitled sequel to Man Of Steel was met with great backlash by fans early this morning.

Adrian Palmer, 34 year-old comic book enthusiast and occupant of his parents’ basement, was one of many irritated fans who left the comfort of their soft light desk lamps to face the sun in a collection held outside of Warner Brother studios in protest of the announcement.

“I can’t fathom how DC Comics could alter the historical origins of Batman. [Affleck] is incapable of portraying a modern adaptation of our hero; Bruce Wayne has been Batman for three quarters of a century,” stated Palmer, before promptly rushing to the bathroom to deal with an ‘anger-related’ nosebleed.

Representatives of Warner Bros held a public question panel following the announcement to alleviate crowd worries and concerns. Unfortunately following our interview, Palmer (in his absence) was unable to receive clarification that, “Ben Affleck will not be written as a replacement to Bruce Wayne, but rather the latest depiction of the multi-billionaire playboy.”

It is unclear as to whether Palmer ever did receive clarification as he has been unavailable for comment and remained offline from his usual internet forums for nearly 24 hours.
